What is the difference between Windows Home and the other editions?

Home covers everyday use. Pro adds BitLocker, Hyper-V, Remote Desktop host and domain join.

Can I move an OEM license to another PC?

An OEM license is tied to the device it is first activated on and is meant to stay with that PC. Choose a retail license if you plan to move it.

Do I need to reinstall Windows to activate?

No. If the same edition is already installed, you can enter the key under Settings › System › Activation without reinstalling.

Should I buy Windows 10 or Windows 11?

Choose Windows 11 if your PC meets its requirements, because it is the supported release. Choose Windows 10 for an older PC that has no TPM 2.0 or cannot run Windows 11.
